PAVFEST FOR SYRIA is an all-day 3-stage bonanza of live music from the cream of our local artistes here in the Derbyshire Dales.
Headlining the event is the mighty, Mercury Prize-winning, BEN OTTEWELL of GOMEZ. Other bands joining Ben include legendary Dales skiffle band PLEASE Y'SELF, brilliant acoustic rock outfit LEFT-HAND DRIVE, great fun party band FACSIMILE, the totally cool and steampunky BLACKFISH, BRUISER with the infamous Collette Dewhurst on vocals, the rambling-shambling good-time blues-rock of THE KING B'S & new Matlock indie sensations ECHOED IN EARTH.
Other artistes include top performance poet MARK GWYNNE JONES, acclaimed singer-songwriter CAROL FIELDHOUSE, jazz pianist, singer and raconteur GERRY KRIEBICH, great new Derby songwriter MJ GILL, the eccentric and fun-loving Wirksworth Ukulele Orchestra WUZALELE, stomping Matlock Bath blues songwriter KEV BUTTERFIELD, brilliant young Matlock singer-songwriter SHANNON WALKER & the atmospheric Chris Izaacs/Peter Green- infused sounds of NIALL MCKAY.
