Funhouse Comedy Night at The Blessington CarriageDate: Sat 10th May Time: 20:00 CITY COMEDY CLUB CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY Derby’s highly-acclaimed Funhouse Comedy Club celebrates ten years of shows at The Blessington Carriage with a special show on Monday May 12th. The intimate 70 capacity club, which has twice been awarded Best Midlands’ Comedy Club by leading comedy website Chortle, is regarded by many comedians as one of the very best small clubs in the country. Comics to have graced its tiny stage over the past decade include Sarah Millican, Rhod Gilbert and there was even a secret appearance by Jasper Carrott! The anniversary show will feature several of the acts that have featured numerous times there over the years. Headliner Gary Delaney made many appearances in the first year of the club when he was starting out. He is now a regular panellist on Mock The Week and recently hit the headlines when he married comedy superstar Sarah Millican. Also appearing will be police sergeant turned comic Alfie Moore, white-haired Irishman Caimh McDonnell, red hot rising star Scott Bennett and the wonderful Jeff Leach. The show is hosted by Funhouse Comedy’s founder Spiky Mike who said, “It has been a wonderful experience and such an honour to have such amazingly talented funny people in our little venue. This is the longest running Funhouse club and we now have over 40 running across The Midlands.
