Steve Wight at Melbourne Assembly RoomsDate: Fri 23rd Aug Time: 19:30 Fri 23 August 2013 Steve White, LIVE IN CONCERT – 30 Years in music! plus support - Rose Redd (her poignant verses and explosive choruses let you know that she makes music because she has to.) Tickets £14 in advance or £15 on the door Steve’s accolades are endless: at the age of 17 years he was playing drums in Paul Weller’s new group, THE STYLE COUNCIL. He was the youngest drummer on stage during LIVE AID in 1985 and also played the LIVE 8 gig at Hyde Park with The Who. I’d be willing to bet that everyone’s music collection contains at least one CD with Steve White playing drums on it. He has been a band member, played live and recorded with such bands as Oasis, Paul Weller, The Who, Ian Dury, The James Taylor Quartet & The Players to mention just a few. Joining Steve on stage at Melbourne Assembly rooms to celebrate 30 years in music are bass player Damon Minchella (Formerly of Ocean Colour Scene), Kristyna Mlyes recording artist, who has sung with and supported some of the biggest names in Pop and Sam Gray who since 2011 has been making a name for himself as a very popular singer & songwriter. Damon Minchella, formerly bass player with Ocean Colour Scene was also a regular member of Paul Weller's backing band until 2008, plays as a member of the super-group The Players and played live for The Who. He is currently playing with Trio Valore and also in the studio with Richard Ashcroft for his fifth solo album. Kristyna Myles Kristyna has performed in arenas across the Europe with Chris De Burgh and has opened for Mick Hucknall, Will Young, Status Quo, Pink Martini, M People and last summer for Lemar and The Wanted at Jersey’s Big Gig in The Park. Kristyna released her début single I’m Not Going Back in 2012 on Decca Records receiving critical acclaim in Music Week and featured articles in The Daily Mail and The Sun. Sam Gray Since bursting onto the scene in 2011 with the Radio 2 play-listed debut single ‘Cartwheel Queen’ Sam Gray has gone from strength to strength. The talented singer/songwriter spent that year a special guest on the sold-out Overtones UK tour, playing at prestigious venues including the London Palladium and performing to some 40,000 people. His album Brighter Day wound its way in the Top 10 singer/songwriter albums.
