Some Details...
The Old Nick Trading Company evolved five years ago from a weekly jam session in Nottingham, hosted by Tim Disney.
Phil Jackson had often played mandolin with Tim in 'Bogus Bob', a Dylan tribute act, and moved over to acoustic guitar to help with the jam hosting.
When a bassist was needed, Phil turned to Dave Sidebottom, fellow member of the alt. country set-up, 'El Gecko', and the trio gradually built up a set based around their mutual love of roots country, folk and blues.
The repertoire grew with the addition of some of Tim and Phils' own material, and the weekly sessions polished the act to a point where popular demand required more than a 20 minute spot each side of the jam, and The Old Nick Trading Co became a gigging concern.
