Baron Lewis is a singer-songwriter with great experience, who has finally found his true vocation after being in the wrong line of business. After years playing in myriad bands and always having to give them up because of work and family pressures, something finally had to give. Change seemingly, was just around the corner.
After seeing a friend release and have success with their own material, Baron decided the time was right to "go for it" and record his original songs, written over the last 30 years.
The resulting album "long overdue"is just that. Produced by Tony "Doggen" Foster (Spiritualized guitarist and a life long friend), Baron pays homage to the production genius of Doggen and admits the album would not be possible without his dedication and late nights at the studio's in Colwick.Doggen's supreme musicianship has meant this album surpassed everyone's expectations. This collection of songs takes the listener through the highs and lows of Baron's colourful past,and leave's them fulfilled and in awe of the experience within.
Barons' style is wide blend of rock, soul, latino and country, and it all appears, in various guises, however there is a distinctive theme and thread throughout the music, and that is the beauty of Barons' voice. Twelve powerful tracks that are different in style and composition, with heartfelt, meaningful lyrics that could only be written by having lived through the pleasure and pain of life.
His band are a bunch of old mates, providing first class musicianship.Only old mates, touring buddies and close friends could so clearly understand such stunning songwriting, the ebb and flow, the subtle nuances. Distinctive voices and storytellers come to the fore every so often, this time it is the turn of this wonderful artist to enchant us with his tales of true life, backed up with the soul and voice of a giant.
